STAR Reading and Math

Students take computerized STAR Math and STAR Reading assessment tests district-wide to identify their performance grade levels so that appropriate supportive interventions may be implemented.

The Standardized Test for Achievement in Reading (STAR) is a computerized assessment used district-wide to identify students who are reading below grade level so that appropriate supportive interventions may be implemented. STAR Math computerized tests are administered to students and used to identify those who demonstrate need for support and intervention in Math.

STAR tests are an important aspect of the district’s assessment plan. STAR tests are administered to students who are independent readers three times during each school year to determine students’ instructional reading and math levels and to document progress over time. STAR reports provide teachers and parents with individualized data on the reading and math development of each student.
