Mrs. Broyles, Media Specialist at WCIS, collaborated with Family Resource, teachers, staff, parents, community members, and district administrators to participate in World Read Aloud Day 2019.  This is an annual literacy event sponsored by Scholastic.  Every year, on World Read Aloud Day (WRAD), people all around the globe read aloud together and share stories to advocate for literacy.  For 10 years WRAD has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read aloud! The global effort is now celebrated in over 173 countries and counting!

Whitley Central Intermediate School had the pleasure of listening to stories read by Superintendent John Siler, Mrs. Brashear, Principal, Tania Sharp, Educator and Human Resource Director, Jenine Leskiw, parent, Renee Hibbard, Educator/Administrator and grandparent, just to name a few special guests.
